Chairman's Message

FMS 2024

Chuck Sobey Chuck Sobey
FMS General Chair

The semiconductor industry is expanding once again - this time, propelled by the deployment of AI. That means more memory and more storage!

FMS is happy to reflect our industry's growth and change with a new look and name. To highlight our continuing expansion beyond flash, into DRAM, and to all memory and storage, we are rebranding ourselves from "Flash Memory Summit" to "FMS: the Future of Memory and Storage!"

For 18 years, FMS has been the must-attend event for flash professionals. We invite you to help us expand and become the must-attend event for the entire memory and storage industry.

We will continue to provide what you have come to expect, but it will extend over topics beyond flash. We are building our program to include:

  • Plenary keynotes from the top companies in the industry
  • Prestigious awards: Lifetime Achievement, SuperWomen in Leadership, and Best of Show
  • All new "FMS Professional Development Series" on Monday afternoon
  • Chat with the Experts (our popular Beer and Pizza networking event)
  • A full exhibit hall to experience the latest hardware, software, and services
  • Business, market, application, and up-to-the-minute technology presentations
  • Must-see panels
  • Popular topics for 2024 include generative AI, machine learning, data analytics, high performance computing (HPC), CXL, UCIe/chiplets, automotive, space applications, cold data, archiving (tape, hard disk drive, DNA, and more), sustainability, and cloud computing solutions.

We are moving our Best of Show awards to Tuesday evening so attendees will have more time to hear from the winners in their exhibit booths. This award presentation exchanged times with Chat with the Experts (now on Wednesday evening) to give people 2-days' worth of program content to discuss over beer and pizza. We continue to add programs to support academics and all early-career professionals.

Please join us in Santa Clara for the best networking opportunity in the industry - FMS: the Future of Memory and Storage!

Thank you,

Chuck
